Have you been seriously infected by the incurable disease often known as the travel bug?
Do you spend your lunch breaks looking up incredible new destinations to visit and explore?
Is your head always in the clouds, or in cities far away from home?
If so, welcome! You've found the right corner to be on the internet. The Anti-Tourist is an online hub for like-minded travelers who want to discover new spaces and ways of trotting around the globe. Anti-Tourists travel with open hearts and minds, and go beyond cliches. Not sure what that means? Take the Anti-Tourist test today, and let me know how that went by saying hi on Twitter!
The Anti-Tourist was created as an online diary, but it has happily evolved to a place where travelers can be inspired to seek new shores. Over here, we like to write about little-known spaces around the world, even in the middle of the most popular destinations like Florence and Paris! We're all about going off the beaten path and discovering the secret spots only locals know about.
We also write about the nitty gritty of travel - the hotels (good and bad), the flights, the trains - you know the drill. Do you want to know more about a particular aspect of travelling? Drop us a line on Facebook and we'll get researching for you!
Who is The Anti-Tourist?
Well, anyone can be an Anti-Tourist, but if you're wondering about who started this blog, then hi!
I'm Desiree' and travelling is my drug of choice. I'm also a 20-something law student, activist, foodie and bookworm. You can guess I'm pretty broke most of the time, yet somehow I've managed to visit over 30 cities across Europe, Asia, Northern Africa and Australia in a relatively short span of time. The question I get asked the most is how do I manage and how do I keep up with everything, which is why I started this blog! I want to share my experiences and adventures with anyone who might need it. So welcome to this tiny space on the internet, I hope you enjoy every part of it!
+ I'm a company/brand and I want to work with you. How do I do this?
Drop me a line on email@example.com and we'll discuss the details, and I can send over my Press Kit. Please consider that I will only post about things I genuinely like and think will be of value to my readers!
+ Do you advertise on the blog?
I write about places I've been and events and places I love - if it deserves an advert it's going to get it!
+ Where are you from?
I'm from Malta, a tiny island in the middle of the Mediterranean. Its stunning landscapes and rich history is what made me love exploring new places in the first place! Check it out here and here.
