Check In: A cosy Gozo getaway with Quaint Hotels
Finding alternative forms of travel has been my recent obsession, but as an islander in the middle of the Mediterranean, reaching beautiful spots without boarding a plane might come easier to me over here than to most. My most recent escape has been a quick weekend to Gozo, Malta's sister island, and I couldn't have been happier with my home away from home - Quaint Hotel, in Xewkija. Check it out:
Though small, there's really no way you can get lost finding this hotel, being right in the middle of Xewkija's main square. The bus stop is conveniently right in the square, and amenities such as food stores and pubs can be found there too.
Quaint's Xewkija Boutique Hotel offers ten rooms, with a choice of Comfort rooms, Deluxe Suites and a Penthouse. No expense has been spared in the design and overall quality of the place, and it shows, with traditional features blending in with modern touches seamlessly.
Although the reception is not open 24/7, we checked in quite late at night and found our key and a friendly message awaiting us, explaining all we needed to know. Privacy is a key asset of this cosy hotel, and we found the staff to be very kind and not intrusive at all. Free WiFi is also offered throughout the hotel.
We stayed in the Comfort Room, and comfortable it was! A modern poster bed is the central piece of the room, which also has a sofa area, desk, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a good sized balcony.
With rooms starting at 70 Euro per night, Quaint is reasonably priced and offers great value for money. I'd definitely recommend this boutique hotel to a friend, so here I am, recommending it to you! Try it out and let me know what you think :)
