Tuesday Travel Inspiration: Out of this World

By 17:12:00

It's amazing to think that only 46 years ago, man was stepping on the moon for the first time. Today, we're landing on Mars, discovering more planets than ever before, and landing ships on moving comets through space. Extraterrestrial travel is gradually edging towards becoming a possible reality in the future.

To excite us even more about this prospect, NASA's jet propulsion laboratory has released a set of travel posters for a series of different planets. They are beautifully made and in true 1920's style, showcasing the 'premier travel destinations of the far future'. Take a look below!

Kepler 186-f is the first Earth-size planet discovered in a potentially habitable zone around another star, where liquid water could exist on its surface. Since its star is much cooler than our Sun, the color palette on the planet would be very different from ours.

HD 40307g is twice as big as our Earth, therefore its gravitational pull is much, much stronger.

Kepler-16b orbits a pair of stars - two 'Suns'! This means that a double sunset is a more than possible reality.

Liked what you saw? NASA is now giving these posters (and many others) for free here! You can download them, print and have them at your own home. What planet do you want to go to? Personally I've always wanted a house on the moon, but I'll settle for anyone of the above :) Let me know in the comments below!
