Night in the City
Once in a while, events come around that remind me that I don't need to travel thousands of miles to find beautiful places and buzzing atmosphere - we have plenty of that here in Malta too!
Notte Bianca is an annual event held in our capital, Valletta, and has rapidly grown to be one of the most anticipated of the year. I have to say, this year it has been expertly organised, from promotion to crowd control and especially the events bringing to life every nook and cranny of the city, of course. We dived right in with the rest!
Valletta has developed immensely in the past few years, and the momentum has only been increasing since the city was named European Capital City of Culture for 2018. The works to polish Valletta are starting to show, with new architectural forms mixing with the old, creating a unique juxtaposition.
With different music filling our ears at every street, from jazz to traditional bands playing pop songs, we strolled along, breathing it all in.
One of a kind exhibitions were also set up, from gaming in the national library to scientific mazes in the main square.
Away from the crowds, we explored the lesser known streets and bars, with live music still echoing around us.
Exhausted, we drove home, enjoying the final decorations as we exited the city. Valletta, I love you!
