Backpacking Trip #1: A day in Trieste

By 16:33:00 , , ,

3 girls, 3 countries, 15 days. Challenge accepted!

After a good month planning our impromptu backpacking trip around the Adriatic, we were packed and ready to go. We hopped on the first of many, many flights and train rides to come, and whizzed off to our first stop, Trieste, in northern Italy.

Elegant, vibrant, gorgeous. Trieste.

The next morning, we tumbled out of bed early to explore, since we were leaving for Croatia that very evening.

But of course, we had to stop our scavenging and concede a break at Chocolat, the most gorgeous little ice cream place, dedicated entirely to chocolate flavours (duh).

Approved!

We marched on, oohing and aahing at the lovely architecture and gazing longingly at the bakeries dotting the streets.

The blistering heat left us sweltering, and soon enough we couldn't resist splashing around by the promenade!

We befriended locals...

...and set off to explore the city once again, this time from a higher vantage point.

Stay tuned for more backpacking adventures!
